David G. Bates is a shareholder of the Gunster law firm. He is a former chairman of the firm's Corporate Practice Group and the current chairman of the firm's Technology and Emerging Companies Practice Group. Mr. Bates regularly counsels clients in business law, mergers and acquisitions, technology law, venture capital, licensing and distribution and corporate finance and securities. In 2006, he was named the "Key Law Partner" for South Florida by the South Florida Business Journal. In 2004, the South Florida Business Journal named him the "Up & Coming" attorney under the age of 40 in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County, Florida.
