On June 9, South Florida Interactive Marketing Association members and guests will hear from one of the first technology disruptors in the travel industry, Terry B. Jones.
Jones, best known for the innovative travel sites Travelocity and Kayak, will lead a powerful presentation on what it takes for companies to inspire, build and maintain a culture of innovation. Jones’ extensive experience creating innovative business plans for the nation’s most renowned travel sites makes him the perfect brain to pick when it comes to online marketing and running a successful, full-service business operating completely online. Jones has turned the path to innovation into an academic exercise and everyday skill that can be applied universally for success in numerous markets and fields. Whether you are an online marketer or business owner, you’ll walk away with something of value.
Jones began his career as a travel agent, and later spent 24 years in the marketing and information technology departments at American Airlines. As Chief Information Officer of the airline’s SABRE division, he led a team of six who drafted and designed what would become the popular travel booking site, Travelocity.com. After serving as the CEO of Travelocity for seven years and driving in $3 billion in sales, Jones left to join the founding team at Kayak.com, where he served as Chairman until it was sold to Priceline for $1.8 billion in 2013.
Jones is not just a business mogul in the travel sector: He is a passionate mentor who shares his wealth of knowledge across industries with businesses around the country.
