FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 24, 2016) – In a digital, smartphone-reliant world, it is ironic that event marketing, which allows companies to more personally connect with their customers through live, face-to-face events, is growing faster than ever. On Thursday, July 14, the South Florida Interactive Marketing Association will host David Añón, vice president of marketing for eMerge Americas, to connect the dots with a lesson on how event marketing can leverage digital and social channels to more effectively promote, engage and convert attendees – and ultimately impact the bottom line.
Companies are relying in greater numbers on event marketing to build brand awareness and increase sales. According to EventTrack 2015, a survey co-sponsored by the Event Marketing Institute and experiential marketing agency, Mosaic, event marketing is the fastest growing form of marketing in the United States. In addition, 65 percent of companies surveyed made a direct correlation between events and sales. Companies are also allocating more dedicated funding to event and experiential marketing.
Añón will discuss the following on event marketing in the digital age:
- Why relevant content is king
- Knowing your target audience and creating a unifying message for every channel they touch
- Nurturing the database and focusing on back-end systems
- Strategically aligning all marketing channels
The session is ideal for marketers and senior executives in both for-profit and non-profit organizations, as well as entrepreneurs and event planners.
David Añón is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all of eMerge Americas’ internal and external marketing and corporate communications activities. eMerge Americas is an annual B2B tech event held annually in Miami. The conference features the latest technology trends, global thought leaders, educational summits, startup competitions and more. Prior to joining eMerge Americas, Añón held marketing and management roles at World Wrestling Entertainment, Research in Motion, The Beacon Council, Brightstar, Sony and Panasonic.
The talk takes place on Thursday, July 14 at 6:30 p.m., at the Antique Car Museum in Fort Lauderdale. The evening begins with networking, followed by the presentation at 7:30 p.m. The event is free for South Florida IMA members. Non-members pay $39 in advance, $49 at the door.
