A First Timer’s Guide to the Pubcon SFIMA Summit 2016

Are you a new member of the South Florida International Marketing Association (SFIMA) or new to online marketing in South Florida all together? The Pubcon SFIMA Summit 2016 is the perfect event to attend to if you are looking to expand your network and knowledge of digital marketing!

The Pubcon SFIMA Summit is SFIMA’s largest annual conference and it will have over 20 sessions covering different aspects of online marketing throughout the day.

For those who have never before attended a Pubcon SFIMA Summit, our contributors have put together a first timer’s guide to the Pubcon SFIMA Summit 2016. This guide will help you better understand the conference schedule and which sessions you won’t want to miss if this is your very first summit:

Friday, February 25th – Fort Lauderdale Convention Center

First, wake up with a smile and dress to impress. There is no real dress code for the summit, but just be aware that you will be networking with other marketers and industry leaders throughout the day. Wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. We always recommend bringing a light jacket in case you are a true Floridian and can’t stand anything under 75 degrees, as the convention center tends to get cold.

Registration begins at 7:20 a.m. Please sign in at the registration table to receive your name tag and a schedule of the day’s events. Continental Breakfast is included with your ticket purchase and will allow you to meet some of the other attendees over a cup of Joe. Not a coffee drinker? Tea and other refreshments will be available as well. Remember this area, as it is where lunch will be served later in the day.

At 8 a.m. make your way back to the main auditorium for a welcoming 25-minute speech and overview of Pubcon SFIMA Summit 2016.

The summit is broken into four tracks, seven sessions, and one main keynote. Sessions run between 45 and 60 minutes and are located in four different salons. The four tracks for the conference are: Organic Search, Paid, and ‘Potpourri’ – which is a crockpot of marketing topics. If you are attending the Pubcon SFIMA Summit for a particular topic, meaning you are PPC manager and are attending to advance your knowledge on paid advertising, then this guide is not for you. You should select all of the sessions in your track and disregard this guide. Or, if you are open to learn different marketing trends and are a medium to advanced marketer, please read ‘How to Choose the Right Session at the 2016 Pubcon SFIMA Summit’.

These sessions were chosen because our team believes that they have the best takeaways for a marketer that is attending the conference without a preplanned agenda.
